About Me – Mike Jackson

I’ve started this blog so that I’ve yet another excuse to write as often as possible. In July 2009 I retired – I had been a primary school head teacher for 25 years. I want to use my retirement to try all the things that I never had the time to do when I was working.

I’ve always read a lot and still do. My wife, Ann,  says that I have some strange ideas when it comes to reading! I like thrillers and science fiction. I still read books about education, especially what education might look like in the 21st Century. I love reading management/business books, self-help books, books about how our minds work …. and the list goes on!

I enjoy playing with technology. I would be lost without my MacBook Pro and my iPod Touch. Can’t wait to get my hands on the new iPad. I’m enjoying blogging and quite fancy having a go at podcasting.

On top of all this I like to write – my problem is I haven’t quite worked out what exactly I want to write. I’m playing around with short stories, love writing children’s stories and part of me would like to write a non-fiction book about leadership in schools.

Hi Mike Jackson , pleased to meet you.
AND Science Fiction?…. me too, love it..in fact am wallowing in it..have wallowed in it..and I think it shows in my writing…(at least I hope so)… also written a couple of childrens stories, although nothing published book wise…just by myself on WLS, Blogger and now WordPress… I love words. I hope you do find your ambition to write a book comes to fruition. xPenx

    Hi Mike,
Thanks for visiting and commenting. I look forward to reading your stories and posts.
I am glad you found Penny – she writes great “coffee break stories”, as she describes them, and some amusing poetry.
    Merry Christmas.

And I am leaving my thanks to the mix as well, Mr Mike Jackson. It was so nice of you to visit my little page on blogger and leave such a nice note. I looked at it and said, “Mike? Who’s Mike?” and then clicked and ran over here as fast as I could. Bliss. Bliss is what I found here. Yessireebob (that’s a VERY old saying here) I read Dec. and Nov. and plan on going backwards for many months of your writings. Backwards, ha. Isn’t it funny how we have to go backwards when reading blogs! Anyway, I have just become your newest fan and reader and I am saying right out loud to you, “Don’t stop! Oh, don’t stop!” Yes, it’s that good 😉
